1. Respect is the name of the game. Although it should be a part of your daily relationship with your mom, go above and beyond on Mother’s day. Show her the utmost respect she deserves, display good manners towards her and make her feel truly cherished.

2. Simply appreciate your time with her. Have fun! Play music that make you both smile, laugh and reminisce on memories together. Sing together to songs that remind you of your childhood, or her childhood. Dance to the debke, or any other dances that you both enjoy.

3. Value quality time with her. Take her for one-on-one walks, to allow deeper conversations and strengthened trust and openness between you two. Check on how she is feeling as well as her heath issues. Make sure to make her feel important and unconditionally cared for.

4. Walk her down memory lane. Show her photographs of you as a child. Show her photographs of you two together throughout all of your years, as a child, teenager and adult. Remind her how lucky you are to have a mother who raised you so well and was by your side through it all. Sharing memories will create nostalgic feelings and a strengthened connection between mother and child.

5. Write it down for her. Explain, describe and illustrate to your mom why you love her so much. Sometimes it can be more valuable to dive into details of all the things that you truly appreciate in your mom. Point out all the little things that you appreciate in her, some of which she will be happily surprised that you paid attention to!

6. Videos are always a great way to express gratitude and love. Create a video conveying how you feel towards her. Add some funny jokes or moments that she can laugh at. Videos can last forever, so make sure it is a video she will watch, smile, and cherish forever.

7. If your mom likes going to the church/mosque, go with her and pray with her. Show her that her morals, values, and beliefs, although different or similar to yours, are recognized and valued by you.

8. Always give her hope, admiration and more reasons to be proud of having a child like you!
