Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival 2011 Returns March 16-19
The third annual Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival (AAPFF) is pleased to present our opening night art show and film feature The Time That Remains at the historic Michigan Theatre. Actor, screenwriter, and director Elia Suleiman presents a handful of autobiographical short stories that offer a witty but thoughtful perspective on the place of Palestinians in Israel (and his own role in the nation) in this comedy drama. University of Michigan student and artist Meg Urisko will be presenting her works prior to our opening night film in the lobby of the Michigan theatre. Held on March 16th 2011 with the film beginning at 7:30pm, we are pleased to continue our support of Palestine through all mediums of art.
Throughout the week the Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival will be showcasing Palestinians activism and film through the voices of some of Palestine’s most vigorous supporters. Our Thursday night film, the acclaimed Selves and Others; A Portrait of Edward Said, will offer a priceless view into the final thoughts of the late prominent Palestinian supporter Edward Said. Friday night at 7:30pm, AAPFF is excited to host our first ever mixer featuring short films and a poetry slam dedicated to the lifting voice of Palestine in the Vandenberg room of the Michigan League.
