Arab America Foundation Announces Omar Kurdi as Director of Development

(Washington DC) Tuesday, March 3, 2026–The Arab America Foundation(AAF) is pleased to announce that Omar Kurdi will join the organization as its new Director of Development.
Omar Kurdi is a nonprofit leader, writer, and community advocate committed to advancing Arab American identity and representation. He is the co-founder and former president of Arab Americans of Cleveland, an organization dedicated to leadership development, civic engagement, and cultural programming. He also serves as CEO of Friends for Life Rehabilitation Services, where he has helped grow the organization into a regional leader in disability services.
Omar has served on several boards, including the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County. He has been recognized as a “40 Under 40” leader by Crain’s Cleveland Business and the Arab America Foundation.
A published poet, Omar has released two poetry collections, with an upcoming collection exploring themes of faith, immigration, and generational identity—reflecting his passion for elevating Arab American narratives.
“Omar represents the next generation of Arab American leadership—visionary, grounded in community, and deeply committed to service,” said Issam Andoni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab America Foundation. “Working closely with AAF Co-Founders Warren and Dr. Amal David, he will help guide our next phase of growth, strengthen strategic partnerships, and build a sustainable foundation for expanding our national impact.”

Founded in 2019, the Arab America Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Arab heritage, educating Americans, and connecting and empowering Arab Americans across the United States. Through initiatives such as National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM), our Rising Leaders (20/30/30) initiatives recognizing students and young professionals, and the Connect Empowerment Summit, AAF works to elevate Arab American identity and foster civic engagement nationwide.
