Arab American Judge Among Local Judges Dancing to Reduce Bullying

posted on: Feb 1, 2011

Oakland Mediation Center is proud to announce that they will present an entertaining evening of ballroom dancing featuring some of our favorite Federal and Oakland County Judges and Professional Dancers at the wonderful Auburn Hills Marriott Centerpoint on Friday, February 11, 2011. Arab American of Lebanese descent, Federal Judge George Caran Steeth will participate as one of the celebrity judges.

Proceeds will benefit OMC’s Youth Programs. OMC’s Youth Programs are proven remedies to bullying, violence, and school drop-out. Michigan is experiencing a drop out crisis of tremendous proportions, approximately 21,000 students per year, and cannot afford the social or economic costs of increased crime rates, lower tax revenue, strained social services, and fewer well-educated workers to attract 21st century jobs.

The Valentine’s Ball featuring “Dancing With The Judges” is a semi-formal evening of dinner and dancing. Federal and Oakland County Circuit and District Court Judges will perform a ballroom dance chosen by their professional dance instructors. At the end of the performances Celebrity Commentators such as Karen Drew, Local 4 Anchor, and Judy Susskind, Super Lawyer/Competitive Dancer, among others will provide critique of each routine. Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Oakland County Executive, Brooks Patterson.

The OMC Valentine’s Ball featuring “Dancing With The Judges” promises to be a fun-filled evening of entertaining dance performances complimented with the exceptional food and amenities of the Oakland Ballroom at our sponsoring facility the Auburn Hills Marriott Centerpoint. This will all be followed by Open Dancing with your own Valentine! You won’t want to miss this “sweet” event.
