Arab-American Philanthropy Seeking Proposals
A Michigan-based philanthropic organization that helps nonprofit groups serving Arab Americans nationwide says it’s focusing on those dealing with social justice issues.
The Center for Arab American Philanthropy of Dearborn says it’s planning to award a total of $50,000 this year. It’s seeking groups working toward the fair treatment and portrayal of U.S. Arabs through advocacy, arts, culture, economic development, health care and other areas.
The philanthropy center says it has awarded more than $232,000 since its 2005 launch. It was founded by Dearborn-based ACCESS, formerly known as the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services.
The center works with donors to invest in organizations and programs that it says make the greatest impact.
