Palestinian Female Student Leader Campaign – Birzeit University
Birzeit University in Palestine is running a campaign to keep our 25 most-deserving female student leaders enrolled. This campaign aims to eliminate the financial burdens faced by these bright young women who are doing amazing work on and off-campus, despite the obstacles they face.
This campaign was born out of a conversation with Aseel Harb, a tutor and an active female student on campus, who voiced her struggle to stay enrolled due to the financial burdens facing her family after her father’s death. Aseel’s father passed away two years ago, her brother had to quit school to work, and Aseel will not be able to continue her college education unless she has a scholarship.
After this conversation, The Advancement Department at Birzeit University met with 24 more deserving active female students, who expressed their need for financial aid in order to continue their education. The Advancement Department is determined to prevent financial burdens from forcing these extremely talented women to suspend or abandon their studies.
