Book Review: ‘Jewish Migrant Forces Conquest of West Jerusalem in 1948 and East Jerusalem in 1967’ by Ibrahim Matar

The city of Jerusalem, the ancestral capital of the state of Palestine has been at the center of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for decades. Sacred to the world’s three great monotheistic religions, it is a city which has represented coexistence and is at the heart of the Palestinian people’s struggle for liberation. The term “conquest” is … Continued

Now We Know for Sure—Trump Campaign Bribe paid for the Illegal U.S. Embassy Move to Jerusalem

New information has just emerged on why the U.S. was able to open a new embassy in Jerusalem. While Israelis delighted in the news, Palestinians were enraged. Adding insult to injury, recently elected conservative British Prime Minister Liz Truss repeated Trump’s strategy to propose the transfer of the UK’s embassy to Jerusalem. A new exposé on Trump details who Bankrolled the U.S. embassy move. John Mason, contributing writer, spells out how the transfer of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was paid for.

Palestinians Caught in the Middle–As Usual–A Crackdown by both Israel and the Palestinian Authority

Israeli military forces have carried out more and more killings and arrests in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Critics have warned that the Israeli crackdown would fuel more violence. A more subtle take on Israel’s suppression of Palestinians is its version of Sesame Street. It is aimed at preschoolers to erase vestiges of Palestine or Palestinians. Contributing writer, John Mason, writes that, almost as if joining the IDF in quelling the violence in the Occupied Territories, the Palestinian Authority security forces acted against its opposing parties.

Rep. Tlaib’s Remarks on ‘Apartheid’ Israel Misinterpreted as Anti-Semitic

Congresswoman and Palestinian American Rashida Tlaib recently made comments on “Apartheid Israel.” Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) slammed Tlaib. However, she overlooked the fact that the Israeli state also oppressively occupies Palestinians. Tlaib’s view on a solution is one-state. Most Democratic reps want a two-state solution. John Mason, contributing writer, reports that while semantics lie at the heart of the differences on Israel, to call Tlaib antisemitic because she objects to Israel’s exploitation of Palestinians is wrong.

Israel Shrugs off Accountability in Murder of Palestinian American Journalist—Shireen Abu Akleh

Only last week did the Israeli military admit it was ‘highly probable’ an IDF soldier mistakenly killed journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. Over and over, Israeli officials swore that none of the soldiers intended to harm the journalist. They ruled out any criminal investigation or charges against its troops. That is a criminal act in itself. John Mason, contributing writer, suggests that saying Abu Akleh’s killing was an accident does not let the IDF off the hook. That she was misidentified is preposterous. Or that there were Palestinian gunmen in the area is a lie.

Palestinian Arabs of Israel—Marginalized, Barely Coexisting as Self-Defined ‘Second-Class’ Citizens

Palestinian citizens of Israel are skeptical of their right to vote in the upcoming elections. They feel they are participating as pawns in a longtime political deadlock. Their citizenry in Israel is now threatened by a Supreme Court ruling on revoking a person’s citizenship. John Mason, contributing writer, reviews these stories and also presents a salient view of the so-called equality of citizenship by Palestinian activist, Diana Buttu.

Continued Israeli Double Assault on Palestinians – Confiscation of more Land, Stomping on their Human Rights

The IDF began its assault of Palestinian land in mid-July. It included confiscation of almost 1,500 acres in the area around Ramallah, justified by interests of protecting surrounding Jewish settlements. Contributing writer, John Mason, reports on this story and a shocking, opposing Israeli view that it is the Palestinians who are guilty of a land grab of Judea and Samaria. A second assault reported here is of IDF troops closing down several Palestinian human rights organizations. These groups are accused of being a front for a militant faction.

Coverage of Senseless Israeli Attack on Gaza Typical of Western Unsympathetic Reporting on Palestinians

Israelis have had a tough time explaining its August 5th attack on Gaza. In that attack several dozen Palestinians were killed, including six children, and wounding of 265. Palestinians did not start this attack. Speculation is that it was launched to buffer Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s political standing in the election campaign against Netanyahu. John Mason, contributing writer, discusses the fact that Israel is not alone in its bias against Palestinians—it also applies to Western media.
