Chicago Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference: Commitment, Engagement, Empowerment through Diversity
Motown Legend Martha Reeves will headline the signature 3nd Annual Images and Perceptions Diversity Conference, “Commitment, Engagement, Empowerment through Diversity”, to be held on Friday, November 14, 2014, at The Carlisle, 435 E. Butterfield Rd, Lombard, IL 60148 from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
This unique conference explores the culture, diversity, and contributions of the African American, Hispanic American, Arab American, Asian American and Jewish American communities as it examines the images portrayed in media, film, and television, and their implications in education, government, and corporate America.

Join the 2014 Conference Presenters: Motown Legend Martha Reeves will intrigue the audience with her own experience growing up black as a woman and entertainer, the civil rights movement and its impact on politics and music; Professor John Woods, PhD, of the University of Chicago will share a unique and thought provoking presentation on the evolution of images in the media. City of Dearborn Police Commander, David Robinson will highlight effective strategies for community policing in a diverse environment; Diversity and Motivational Speaker, Chicago new and exciting theatrical voice, Rohina Malik will present her one women thought provoking play Unveiled; Asian Giving Circle member and Disability advocate Jae Jin Pak will address “Widening the Circle” and the challenges of the disability community members in mainstream America and Diversity of Asian Communities; City of Chicago Office of Public Engagement Deputy Director, Adolfo Hernandez will speak about the Hispanic experience in politics and public service; Anya Cordell, Spirit Ann Frank Award recipient mesmerizes her audience with the flavor of Appearance-ism, racism and the Jewish American experience.
