Please join Birzeit Society for a cooking class. We will teach you how to make the mouth watering dish Wara Dawali, or rolled grape leaves, from scratch. This dish uses simple ingredients and big flavor to create a belly warming dish that is sure to impress at your next dinner party. Ditch the canned stuff and let us show you how to make a dish you’ll want to create over and over again.
The primary ingredients for this dish are rice, beef and grape leaves. We can show you how to make a vegetarian version as well if you would like.
This class will take place in a home kitchen. We’ll show you how to make the stuffing and then how to roll grape leaves. We’ll all roll the grape leaves together. We’ll show you how they’re placed in the pot to boil and they’ll all boil while we share with you a bit about Palestinian history and culture. We’ll also share information about great side dishes to serve with your grape leaves dish.
Once the food is done we’ll get to try the grape leaves and each of you can go home with a Tupperware to eat right away or freeze for later.
