Female Spirituality in Islam featuring five distinguished voices in Islamic thought and spiritual formation.

On April 4, SufiCorner hosts an in-person Female Spirituality in Islam Conferencefeaturing five distinguished voices in Islamic thought and spiritual formation.

Garrett Graddy-Lovelace (Moderator) is an anthropologist and professor whose work explores food, land, labor, and moral economies through comparative, ethical, and spiritual lenses. Her research and teaching attend closely to questions of justice, relationality, and care, drawing on lived traditions, community knowledge, and critical inquiry to illuminate the deeper values that shape human flourishing.

Aisha Gray Henry (Speaker) is an American Islamic scholar, writer, filmmaker, and founder of Fons Vitae, a publishing house dedicated to translating and transmitting sacred Islamic texts — especially the works of Imam al-Ghazali — into accessible English and educational resources.

Maria Massi Dakake (Speaker) is a scholar of Islamic intellectual history and Qur’anic studies at George Mason University, known for her work on Sufi traditions and her contributions to The Study Quran.

Farah El-Sharif (Speaker) is a scholar in Islamic studies (Stanford University) whose research engages classical and contemporary Islamic thought, ethical inquiry, and the expressive dimensions of religion.

Hina Khalid (Speaker) is a thinker and writer whose work explores spirituality, community, and creativity in contemporary Islamic life.

This conference gathers these voices to reflect on the hidden dimensions of love, knowledge, and spiritual agency in the lived and intellectual traditions of Islam.
