Come join us for a special film screening of the classic movie ‘Brides’ at the University Student Center at George Washington University!

Brides (Sundance 2025 World Premiere) tells the coming-of-age story of two Muslim teenage girls in the UK, Muna and Doe, who, facing racism and bullying, are lured by social media promises of a better life in Syria as ISIS brides.

The film delves into themes of identity, belonging, and the challenges of navigating adolescence as minorities in British society, where they experience “pervasive minoritization and othering”. Critics at Sundance highlighted the “star-making performances” of the two young leads and described the film as a “heartbreaking feature debut”.
