Learn the Art of Arabic Calligraphy with Kashif — a hands-on, meditative session where you’ll master nuqtas and pen strokes.

In this hands-on workshop, dive into the meditative practice of Arabic calligraphy. You’ll start by learning to form nuqtas, the basic building block of all Arabic calligraphy, then move on to the specific pen movements used to shape various Arabic letters. By the end, you’ll walk away with a finished piece featuring an Arabic word of your choice, or the name of yourself or a loved one, rendered in beautiful calligraphy. All supplies are provided, no prior experience is needed, and you don’t need to know Arabic to enjoy this workshop.

Kashif is a Cambridge-based Arabic calligrapher studying under Shahryanshah, a master calligrapher in Istanbul whose calligraphy lineage traces back hundreds of years. He’s also a visual artist — follow him on IG @TimbukTrip.
