Join us for a sisters-only beach volleyball tournament and picnic at DUMBO Pier 6!! Come to compete. Come to give. Come to win.

Assalamu Alaykum! We are so excited to have you join us for Sisters’ Volleyball 4 Sudan at DUMBO Pier 6. To hold your spot, your team captain must register AND pay the team fee first. This is first-come, first-served. In the days leading up to the tournament, we will reach out to captains to confirm registration information and rules. Failure to communicate sufficient will result in removal from the bracket.

Teams are 4–6 players with 4 on the court at a time. Captains register and list all players at sign-up — no last-minute swaps. Individual sign-ups will be grouped with other individuals or added to existing teams.

Price: $100 per team | $20 individual sign-up

On the registration form, captains self-report their team’s skill level:

  • Beginner — Never or rarely played, just here for fun
  • Intermediate — Played recreationally, know the basics
  • Competitive — Play regularly, on a team, or have tournament experience

Fundraising Competition:

Every team that registers for Volleyball 4 Sudan is automatically entered into the Team Fundraising Challenge. Beyond competing on the court, each team is challenged to raise a minimum of $50 in donations for Sudan relief before tournament day. Teams can fundraise however they choose — bake sales, personal outreach, social media campaigns, donation links — and all funds go directly to Sudan humanitarian aid. The team that raises the most money by the end of the tournament wins a separate award alongside the on-court champions. Donation totals will be announced at the award ceremony.

Tournament Structure:

10 teams across 2 pools, seeded by skill level. Each team plays all 4 others in their pool. Top 2 from each pool advance to knockouts. 4v4 on the court at all times — captain manages rotation and subs.

Pool Games: 15-min running clock — first to 21 or leader at buzzer wins

Knockout Games: Best of 1 set to 25 — no time cap

Subs: Free substitution between points, captain manages rotation

Knockout bracket: Semis → Championship Final + 3rd place match

Code of Conduct:

  • No cursing, taunting, or unsportsmanlike conduct
  • No disrespecting referees
  • Halal environment enforced throughout
  • Designated prayer breaks built into the schedule
  • Violations may result in penalty or ejection
