The Arab women’s surf collectives of Southern California, Banat El Waves (بنات الويڤز) and PaliSurferChicks, are proud to present a night of Palestinian cinema with a focus on water as a symbol of freedom. We are raising funds for families in Gaza whose origins are of coastal/water/surf culture. 100.00% of our proceeds are going to them. This event is co-sponsored by Palestinian Youth Movement of OC/LA/IE.
Each ticket costs a minimum $50. Additional donations will be accepted and encouraged at the event.
Your ticket includes:
- a seat for both short program and feature presentation
- 1 free popcorn
- Palestinian bites at intermission by Chamya

7:00pm – Feature Presentation of GAZA SURF CLUB by Philip Gnadt and Mickey Yamine (2016, Palestine)
- Followed by a Q&A with protagonist Ibrahim Arafat

The Frida Cinema is located at 305 E 4th Street, Santa Ana CA 92701.
Your best option for parking is the City of Santa Ana’s four-story parking structure, which is located directly behind The Frida. The structure can be accessed off of 5th Street by turning south into the parking gate (between Bush and French Street), or off of 4th Street by turning north on Spurgeon Street, after which you head directly into the lot.
NOTE: 5th Street is a one-way street. Be mindful of one-way street signs.
We do not validate for the City of Santa Ana’s lot. The City’s rates are:
First Hour – FreeFirst 30 minutes – $.75Every Hour Thereafter: $1.50/hr
Parking is free Mondays – Fridays from 7am – 5pm. First Two Hours Free on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
