“Stories That Lift: An Evening of Laughter, Community, and Inspiration”

Join us for “Stories That Lift,” a heartfelt event where comedians and other humans come together to share personal narratives that traverse the spectrum of human emotion. From humorous escapades to poignant life lessons, each story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the indomitable human spirit.

Event Highlights:

  • Diverse Storytellers: Experience a rich tapestry of voices as storytellers recount moments that made them laugh, cry, and ultimately grow. Their tales, ranging from lighthearted misadventures to profound challenges, showcase the multifaceted nature of human experiences.
  • Community Connection: Engage with fellow attendees in an intimate setting that fosters empathy, understanding, and a shared appreciation for the power of storytelling. Opportunities for audience interaction, including Q&A sessions and informal discussions, allow for deeper connections and reflections.

COMEDIANS include Elizabeth Booker Houston, DJ Gaston, Mahmoud Jaber, Sean Savoy, Anya Pines, Daisy Demerag, Will McKoy, Rola Z, Serena.

DC SAFE will have a pop-up, so please check them out their table.

DC SAFE began as a project of the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence in 1997 with just a few Advocates providing court-based services. In 2006, we incorporated as an independent nonprofit organization and immediately began developing our robust crisis intervention services, which are now the foundation of our work with survivors.

DC SAFE, stands for Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment, which demonstrates our commitment to survivor-defined advocacy, in which we recognize that survivors are the experts in their lives and should be empowered to make their own decisions. We are proud to be a leader in this service model, providing support for empowerment for thousands of survivors each year.
