| On January 26, 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued an important ruling regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza. The ruling was in response to a case brought by South Africa against Israel, accusing it of committing genocide in Gaza. The ICJ ruled in favor of provisional measures in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel. These measures mandate Israel to take steps to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza, including the prevention and punishment of incitement to genocide.

Previously, in December 2023, the Palestine Center welcomed Mr. Abofoul to present the M. Cherif Bassiouni Memorial Lecture. During this lecture, he explored the case for genocide in Palestine, examining not only the current crimes in Gaza but also the wider historical context of Zionist settler-colonial efforts to erase and perpetrate violence against the Palestinian people.
