Topping the list is Moroccan Bites. Located at 5714 Evers Road, it’s the highest rated Moroccan restaurant in San Antonio, boasting four stars out of 305 reviews on Yelp.

Featured in season 12 of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Moroccan Bites was painted as a family-run restaurant. Fieri also raved about the eatery’s couscous, according to MySA. On the menu, expect to see traditional Moroccan platters, sandwich options and desserts.

Yelper Tom A. wrote, “Best homemade Moroccan food I’ve had … super homey and welcoming. We ordered the lamb tagine with apricot and pasilla-stuffed chicken, which takes about 25 minutes to prepare, but definitely worth it. Their prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food and service. Highly recommend.”

2. Wheelie Gourmet

The Moroccan fusion menu offers gourmet flatbread pitas, including the Original with gyro meat, tzatziki sauce and feta; or the Chicka, Chicka Bang Bang! with slow-cooked spiced Moroccan chicken, saffron, olives, preserved lemons and feta.

Yelper Anna R. said, “I ordered the zaalouk as a vegetarian option: it consisted of eggplant, which was strewed with tomatoes, onions and other unidentifiable, but very delicious, vegetables. This is served on some seasoned slaw and grilled zucchini and garnished with their very own Wheelie Gourmet pickled red onions.”

Yelper Joseph P. wrote, “The owner was incredibly friendly. He gave us a lot of information about the food and after the meal followed up with some information about Morocco, which made it a more of an experience than a meal. … We got [our] plates and were looking for a knife to cut into the meat. Turns out it fell apart with little to no effort from my fork. … Overall, this place is a diamond in the rough and I would recommend this to anyone in San Antonio.”
