LCN 2011 Convention to Draw Students and Professionals From Across the Nation to Rochester, Michigan

posted on: Jan 31, 2011

The Lebanese Collegiate Network invites you to join us at Oakland University in Rochester Michigan for its 4th annual convention on April 1st-3rd. The event is co-hosted by the Oakland University Lebanese club and will feature a full day of workshop for both students and professionals in addition to an Award Ceremony Dinner on Saturday evening.

This unique hallmark event draws students and University Lebanese Clubs from across the nation. Clubs such as those of Loyola Marymount University and University of Southern California have already applied for funding from their respective universities to be able to fly their board and members to this event. These clubs in addition to the rest of the 19 subscribing ULCs will meet for three days to learn more about one another, network and get the opportunity to develop themselves through the workshops provided.

These effective student workshops apply not only to their future, but to the healthy survival of their Lebanese clubs as well. In years past, the LCN workshops ranged from writing effective application letters to grad schools to organizing events for the clubs. In addition to student workshops, this year, LCN is proud to hold its first ‘Alumni Track’ workshop. These workshops, such as ‘forecasting,’ will engage the professionals and provide them with skills to advance their careers and prosper. It will also give them an opportunity to network in Michigan.

The Convention comes to a close as it has done in years past with its Awards Ceremony Dinner held on Saturday, April 2nd. The dinner gives LCN the opportunity to properly thank and honor the students, professionals and individuals that have made all the successes possible through their own contributions. It is also the venue to present the newly elected LCN board to the community and give out the LCN Most Outstanding ULC Award and the LCN Academic Excellence & Heritage Award.

The convention’s primary purpose is to develop students, alumni and University Lebanese Clubs professionally and academically. You can learn more about this event and registration options at www.mylcn.org/LCN11. Tickets to the Awards Ceremony Dinner may be purchased separately online or in Michigan.
