National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce Hosts Electricity & Water Authority Trade & Investment Mission to the U.S.A.
The Dubai Electricity Water Authority (DEWA), under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the leadership of Managing Director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, will be sending officials to the New York, Texas, and California, May 2-8, 2014 to meet with U.S. companies who have a strategic interest in the MENA region and more specifically, in the United Arab Emirates. DEWA will be represented by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President, and Mrs. Nourma Al Masri, Administrative Services Manager.
The purpose of this tour is to meet with U.S. companies in the business sectors of energy, water, technology, environment, smart grids, and renewables. DEWA seeks to meet with and get introduced to new and developed technologies not already deployed in the UAE, and welcomes U.S. companies with such technology to make contact with DEWA officials during their visit.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s main objective is to provide an adequate and reliable supply of electricity and water for the Emirate and people of Dubai. To achieve that goal, DEWA is tasked with and runs numerous energy and water related projects valued at billions of dollars around the Emirate of Dubai. DEWA is also a member of Dubai’s Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and takes a leadership role in energy matters in the Emirate of Dubai.
DEWA, in partnership with the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC) and its partners around the country, will be arranging and coordinating the visit and will include several key U.S. states that are energy and water powerhouses. In conjunction with federal, state, and local organizations, DEWA will form strategic partnerships with U.S. companies interested in electricity generation, and water treatment, desalination, and distribution.
