"No Religious Preference" Documenting the Association of Patriotic Arab Americans in Military

posted on: Nov 20, 2010

In Their Boots is a documentary series about the impact the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are having on people here at home. Every episode features a documentary about how America’s servicemen and women, their families, and our communities have been profoundly changed by our nation’s campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shot on location throughout the country, these stories stress the courage of our participants, and the valor of the people and organizations that help our heroes on their journey.

There are five segments dealing with the top five issues that service-members face in the military. One was produced and directed by Kyle Hartnett, former U.S. Army Soldier of the 82nd Airborne. Kyle Hartnett turned his prejudice of Muslims into positive action to understand who they are through his documentary titled “No Religious Preference”. It is a little over 30 minutes. You have to watch it in its entirety to really get the message from Kyle. In this documentary Kyle talks about and profiles the Association of Patriotic Arab Americans in Military in Dearborn Michigan at the Arab American National Museum and through the 2010 Dearborn, Michigan Memorial Day Parade.
