Participants Needed for 2020 U.S. Census Americans of Middle Eastern and North African Descent Focus Group

posted on: Mar 2, 2011

The Aguirre Division of JBS International has been contracted by the U.S. Census Bureau to conduct focus groups across the United States with Americans from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds. The purpose of these focus groups is to gain a better understanding of how individuals fill out the race and ethnicity question on the U.S. Census form, and how that question might be amended to more accurately capture how individuals define their racial and ethnic identities.

Given the diversity of the peoples in the Middle East and North Africa and their representation in the U.S., we seek to have a reflection of that diversity in the focus groups by including:

• Males and females;
• Individuals from different age categories (18 years and older);
• Varied educational levels, including those with and without a college degree;
• Foreign and U.S. born;
• All religious faiths; and representatives of the different countries/communities in the region.

The focus group will be held Saturday, March 12 from 10AM–12PM in Southfield, MI.

Participants who attend the focus group will be compensated $75 for their time.
