Mowafak (aka Mofi) is the owner and chef at Tigris Grill. Mofi was 18 when he left home to study mechanical engineering in Prague (Czechoslovakia then). He missed home and his home food, so he started cooking at the dorm. Mofi’s dorm became the place where all who missed home could come and eat.
While in university, Mofi collected recipes from his parents and others and added his own touch to them. By the time he earned his Masters degree in engineering he earned the title of dorm chef. When he went home upon graduation, Mofi inherited the responsibility of his uncle’s restaurant. Before he knew it, Mofi became a restaurateur.
After leaving his home country, Mofi opened a restaurant and a catering business in Sweden before finally settling in the US and opening Tigris Grill & Kebab. All the recipes at Tigris Grill & Kebab are Mofi-originals, in particular the Falafel, which is his own secret recipe.
