Pathbreakers of Arab America—Nadine Ayoub

This is our one-hundred and fifteenth in Arab America’s series on American pathbreakers of Arab descent. The series features personalities from various fields, including entertainment, business, sports, science, the arts, academia, journalism, and politics. Our 115th pathbreaker is Nadine Ayoub, a Palestinian model, businesswoman and a role model for young women everywhere. As John Mason highlights, she represented Palestine in 2025 in the ‘Miss Universe’ contest, the first representative of Palestine at a Miss Universe contest. Going beyond the sheer aesthetics of a beauty contest, Ayoub has found a space to display the strength of her people alongside the suffering they have endured during the Israeli-Gaza war.

Pathbreakers of Arab America— Ghazi Shami

This is the one-hundred and thirteenth in Arab America’s series on American pathbreakers of Arab descent. The series features personalities from various fields, including entertainment, business, sports, science, the arts, academia, journalism, and politics. John Mason highlights our 113th pathbreaker is Ghazi Shami, a Palestinian American music technologist, record producer, audio engineer, and entrepreneur. Ghazi has combined technical, engineering, and musical genres in creating his highly successful independent record label, distribution, and publishing company headquartered in San Francisco.

Pathbreakers of Arab America— Rose Marie Abdoo

This is the one-hundred and eighth in Arab America’s series on American pathbreakers of Arab descent. The series features personalities from various fields, including entertainment, business, sports, science, the arts, academia, journalism, and politics. Our one-hundred and eighth pathbreaker is Rose Marie Abdoo, an Arab American actress, improviser and comedian best known for her roles on popular TV shows such as ‘Gilmore Girls,’ ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ and ‘Reboot.’ In addition to her successful acting career, as contributing writer, John Mason reports, Rose Abdoo is not only a talented actor and comedian, but she is also a humanist in the best meaning of the word, having come from a multicultural background that gives equal weight to all people.

Pathbreakers of Arab America—John Bowab

This is the one-hundred and seventh in Arab America’s series on American pathbreakers of Arab descent. The series features personalities from various fields, including entertainment, business, sports, science, the arts, academia, journalism, and politics. Our one-hundred and seventh pathbreaker is John Bowab, a prominent director of stage and screen credited with 400 television productions and 140 theatrical productions on tour. As John Mason, contributing writer describes, Bowab is part of a small group of Syrian Christians who settled in the Blackstone Valley of Rhode Island and who made it into the entertainment business.

The series features personalities from various fields, including entertainment, business, sports, science, the arts, academia, journalism, and politics. Our one-hundred and second pathbreaker is Marlo Thomas, acclaimed actress, producer, author and philanthropist, best known for her iconic roles in the television series ‘That Girl’ and ‘Free To Be… You and Me.’ Contributing writer John Mason describes how she followed in the footsteps of her father, renowned entertainer Danny Thomas, Marlo embarked on an acting career and has continued to carry on the her father’s philanthropic endeavors.
