DJ Khaled Begins His New Judging Career Tonight on Fox
By Emiliya Strahilova/Arab America Contributing Writer
January 4th is the date for the world premiere of the brand new music show, The Four: Battle of Stardom. The program is different than the rest of the formats because the rules are inverted. The new catch is this– from day one, four competitors are already in the game. Then every week after, their seats are in danger when fresh vocalists enter the show trying to steal the fame. The winner is the one who keeps his seat until the very last episode.
The Four is a collaboration between Fox and iHeartRadio. The jury invited is nothing less than the biggest names from the music business: notable producer Sean “Diddy” Combs; Grammy winner, Meghan Trainor; record label executive, Charlie Walk; and the King of music charts and social media, DJ Khaled. It is the first time the hip-hop star of Palestinian origin will appear as a judge on a TV project for a complete season. It seems like he can’t wait!
Earlier this week, DJ Khaled announced he became an ambassador for Oprah’s campaign, Weight Watchers. It was reported that shares of the famous weight loss program jumped eight percent right after DJ Khaled’s endorsement.
2018 could be the year of the Arab American musician/producer if DJ Khaled’s success is any indicator.
The Four will be aired tonight and is hosted by actress, and former Black Eyed Peas member, now solo singer, Fergie.
