About the Webinar
After two years of genocidal violence against the Palestinian people in Gaza, a ceasefire agreement brokered by US President Donald Trump was announced last month. While it has led to a reduction in violence and the exchange of captives, critical questions remain about Gaza’s future governance and the durability of the truce.
Arab Center Washington DC is hosting a webinar to assess the Gaza ceasefire agreement, its implementation one month in, and the outlook for the near future. Panelists will examine the role of the United States in brokering and enforcing the agreement, alongside the involvement of regional actors and Arab states. They will also explore the implications for Israeli and Palestinian domestic politics. Key questions include: How was the agreement reached? Is it truly a ceasefire? Who will govern Gaza? How are the stages being implemented? And what are the interests of the various parties involved?
