Panel discussion about Jadu’i Book – All proceeds go to Sameer Project in Palestine
Join us for a panel discussion about Jadu’i Book—a 2025 risograph publication featuring commissioned works from 7 Palestinian artists—as well as a broader conversation around publishing for Palestine in this moment. Featuring Qais Assali, Saj Issa, Rami George, Connie Yu, and Tracy Chahwan. All proceeds to support The Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led mutual aid initiative supporting displaced families in Gaza.
About the publication: Jadu’i Book is a 2025 risograph publication, featuring commissioned works from 7 Palestinian artists—Basma al-Sharif, Lamia Abukhadra, Saj Issa, rana nazzal hamadeh, Qais Assali, Lama Altakruri, and Amanny Asell Ahmad. Organized and edited by Rami George, beginning in April 2022; printed and published by Many Folds Press, amidst an ongoing Nakba and genocide of the Palestinian people.
Visually akin to a watermelon, Jadu’i Book takes its name from the Jadu’i watermelon native to Jenin in the Occupied West Bank, as well as references the myriad ways the watermelon has come to symbolize Palestinian resistance. In the spirit of this reference and legacy, we are honored to include Jadu’i seeds from the Experimental Farm Network, in collaboration with the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library, for purchase.
