The Middle East Institute’s Arts and Culture Center and Abu Dhabi Festival in collaboration with The Barns at Wolf Trap are proud to present the Washington, D.C. premier concert of the New York Arabic Orchestra under the artistic direction of award-winning and Grammy-nominated violinist, composer, and educator Layth Sidiq.

Join us for this one-night only concert and enjoy a tapestry of Arabic music including original compositions, interactive segments, and a mosaic of unique arrangements presented by 13 musicians on stage. About The New York Arabic Orchestra & Layth Sidiq

The NY Arabic Orchestra (NYAO), founded in 2007, transformed Arabic music performance and education in New York City and impacted thousands of students and concert-goers around the world. In its 16-year existence, the NYAO has swept the world with powerful performances and workshops, from Lincoln Center, United Nations and Detroit Symphony Hall to Festival Musicas Do Mundo in Portugal and Taipei Silk Road Music Conference in Taiwan. Currently, the orchestra is forging new frontiers, including recording on Ubisoft’s soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage to be released in October 2023, as well as exciting new performances and collaborations on the horizon.

Layth Sidiq is a Jordanian-Iraqi Grammy-nominated violinist, composer, and educator and the current artistic director of the New York Arabic Orchestra. He has toured the world and shared the stage with major artists such as Simon Shaheen, Danilo Perez, and Jack Dejohnette, as well as performing in prestigious venues like the London Jazz Festival, Boston Symphony Hall, WOMEX Expo, Panama Jazz Festival, and more.
