As one of the most highly-anticipated cultural events of the year, the Seattle Eid Festival is an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The festival includes a variety of activities such as a comedy show featuring Muslim comedians, carnival games, food and small business vendors, opportunities for community members to gather and socialize, and much more. The goal is to provide a fun, festive atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy, and to promote understanding and appreciation of the Islamic religion.
Additionally, the festival also has a charitable aspect, as all proceeds from the event go towards supporting the local non-profit organization Amanah. Amanah’s mission is to empower the youth in Seattle through a variety of programs, such as summer camps, basketball tournaments, and other activities that promote personal development, and community engagement. By supporting Amanah, the festival not only provides a fun and festive event for the community but also helps to invest in the future of the youth in Seattle.
