Qatar is amongst the smallest Arab countries. Doha is its capital city that houses 80% of Qatar’s population. In 1916, Qatar went from being under Ottoman control to becoming a British protectorate and eventually became an independent state on September 3, 1971. Much of Qatar’s wealth comes from its natural resources such as oil which allowed the government to invest in their city.
