The Arab American and Chaldean Council Celebrates 35 Years of Service

The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) hosted its 35th Annual Civic and Humanitarian Awards Gala on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.

This year ACC recognized five individuals who are making a difference in enhancing Detroit’s future. The following individuals were recognized: State Leadership Award – Representative Klint Kesto; City Leadership Award – Mayor Brenda Lawrence, City of Southfield; Tribute Award Recipients – Salman Sesi, Andrew Ansara, and Congressman John Dingell. Welcoming remarks were provided by Governor Rick Snyder and the Keynote Address was presented by Ron May, Executive Vice President, Major Enterprise Projects, DTE Energy.

The funds that are raised from the annual gala support the many programs and services the ACC provides to the community. This year’s emcee was Sandra Ali from WDIV-TV.
