Arab America is excited to show this exclusive clip from THEEB, Jordan’s official Academy Award submission for the best foreign language film Oscar by director Naji Abu Nawar.
The year is 1916. While war rages in the Ottoman Empire, Hussein raises his younger brother Theeb (“Wolf”) in a traditional Bedouin community that is isolated by the vast, unforgiving desert. Having recently lost their father, it falls to Hussein to teach Theeb the Bedouin way of life, but the young boy is more interested in mischief than mentorship. In this exclusive clip, Hussein gives Theeb instruction on how to shoot a rifle, establishing the strong bond the two share and foreshadowing the danger they will have to face later in the film.
