Nabeela Barbari, Director of Resilience and Response, National Security Council, The White House, to Speak at CONNECT Arab America: Empowerment Summit

(Washington, D.C., November 10, 2021) The Arab America Foundation is excited to announce that Nabeela Barbari, Director, National Security Council, at The White House has been confirmed to be a speaker at the CONNECT Arab America: Empowerment Summit on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Dearborn, Michigan.
Nabeela Barbari is the Director of Resilience and Response for the National Security Council (NSC) at The White House. She is part of the team responsible for strengthening the security posture of the United States against physical and cyber threats. Ms. Barbari supports the development and advancement of policies, programs, and budgets related to emergency management, infrastructure protection, and the prevention of, and preparedness against national security threats posed by manmade and natural disasters. Ms. Barbari also severed a variety of roles at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from 2008-2021. Most recently, she was the Deputy Associate Director of Strategy and Resources at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Cybersecurity Division. She was also part of a team that stood up the CISA National Risk Management Center and served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties focused on counterterrorism, community engagement, and civil rights policy. Nabeela earned a Master’s Degree from the US Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security in 2015. She also holds a Master’s Degree from George Mason University (2006) and a Bachelors’s from Virginia Commonwealth University (2003). Ms. Barbari was born and raised in the Washington, DC area, where she currently resides today.
Nabeela will be making brief remarks at the Al-Rabitah Gala/Hafla as a guest speaker at the Fairlane Banquet Center, 700 Town Center, Dearborn, Michigan 48126, on Saturday evening, November 13, 2021.
