Now in its 30th year, The Washington, DC International Film Festival brings the finest in contemporary world cinema to the nation’s capital. The festival has introduced over 1,000 feature and short films from over 55 countries to an ever-growing audience.
Filmfest DC is an 11-day annual festival presenting more than 70 feature premieres, restored classics and special events to the general public. The majority of Filmfest DC presentations are Washington, DC premieres.
Consistent with the leadership exemplified by Hala Salaam Maksoud, the Foundation’s goal is to identify, educate and motivate outstanding young individuals who demonstrate the promise of becoming tomorrow’s Arab-American leaders: * Leaders driven to inspire positive change in the Arab-American community; * Leaders committed to protecting the civil and political rights of Arab Americans; * Leaders dedicated to erasing misperceptions about Arabs; * Leaders inspired by the rich and legacy and motivated by humanistic values and American democracy; * Leaders committed to forging bridges and understanding, trust and harmony among all communities
