The Islamic Center of Detroit is a non profit, independent organization which was established in 2000. The prime goal of the ICD is to foster and create an Islamic environment to the Muslim community in the Metro Detroit area by providing religious, educational and recreational activities for its members and the members of the public at large. Among the primary goals of the Islamic Center of Detroit is to outreach the non-Muslims in the community and educate the public about Islam. The necessity to create an establishment that is capable of answering religious and cultural needs of the Islamic community in Metro Detroit area has always been felt due to the ever-increasing growth of this community.
