Gov. Rick Snyder appointments Arab American to the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs

Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Ronald Haddad of Dearborn to the Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs.
Established by Executive Order 2015-6, the 15-member commission was created to act in an advisory capacity to the Governor and the director of the Department of Civil Rights.
“I thank Ronald for his willingness to serve and I’m confident he will positively influence this commission and serve as a strong voice for the Middle Eastern American community within our state,” Snyder said.
Haddad has served as Dearborn’s Chief of Police since 2008. He previously served as Security Chief for the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit and as Deputy Chief of Police for the Detroit Police Department. Haddad holds associate’s degrees from Highland Park Community College and the University of Detroit/Mercy, a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and protection from the University of Detroit/Mercy, and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary technology from Eastern Michigan University. He is also a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command. He will fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Helen Habib.
Haddad will serve the remainder of a term expiring April 19, 2017.
