Angela Y. Davis is a political activist, scholar, author, and speaker. She is an outspoken advocate for the oppressed and exploited, writing on Black liberation, prison abolition, the intersections of race, gender, and class, and international solidarity with Palestine. She authorizes several books, including Women, Race, Class, and Are Prisons Obsolete? She is the subject of the acclaimed documentary Free Angela and All Political Prisoners and is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
About Palestine Week
In keeping with our ongoing mission of uplifting racial and cultural connections, Busboys and Poets is hosting Palestine Week (January 18 thru January 25, 2024). This week-long series of events will offer diverse programming featuring Palestinian food, music, dance, poetry, discussions, and other enriching events. We hope such events will lead to better understanding and help create a more peaceful and tolerant world.
